Sabbath is a day for stopping and resting. It is also for something more: worship. In the New Testament, we are encouraged to enter the rest of God as a way of anticipating the rest of heaven.

The Safety and Risk Management Training Seminar is mandatory for all volunteers serving virtually or in-person with minors in Children's and Teens Ministry. The Full Training Course is on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 1pm-3pm in Chapel. Whether you are taking the Full or Refresher Training, please sign up below. Registration deadline is May 3, 2024.

June 9, 2024, has been designated to be our church’s Missions Sunday. It will be a day full of activities that encourage us to participate in missions. This year’s focus will be on local engagement. The theme this year: "Beyond My Church - Across the Street and Around the City".

Sunday Services
We have invited Pastor Jon Lefave to be the speaker at our Cantonese/Mandarin and English Worship Services at Fraser Lands. Pastor Jon is the Pastor of Local and Global Engagement at Peace Portal Alliance Church in South Surrey. He will have his wife (Joanna) and family join us that day.

Booth Displays
There will be table booth displays to highlight the work of our missionaries and local engagement ministries. In addition, this year you will find some new outreach initiatives that you may not be aware of.

Lunch
We have also planned a multicultural lunch for that day. During lunch there will be a panel interview session to dialogue with some of our members who engaged in frontline mission work across the street and around the city. There will also be a Q & A session with Pastor Jon and Joanna regarding their local outreach engagement. All in all, it will be a day of celebration and learning.

Fraser Lands Community Day is an annual free event for our local communities neighbouring our church. It’s an opportunity to have fun, enjoy food & activities, meet our neighbours and be a blessing to the surrounding community.

Teens Camp is an exciting and spiritually encouraging 4-day overnight camp where teens engage with God, and with one another, through praise and worship, talks, devotions, water sports, obstacle courses, team-building games, and many other activities and experiences.

Please join together and pray for our ministry and mission workers as they serve the Lord in their respective roles and organizations. This month we have updates from the Cambodia STM team and Michelle Ko below.

Eleven persons joined our short term missions team, all from Fraser Lands Church. We spent two weeks (February 22 to March 7, 2024) in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, serving mainly students in school, and the kids in the vicinity of a Christian school. We played, sang, taught, read stories, did craft projects with the children who spoke little or no English. The team donated and replaced 25 out-dated computers in a school computer lab... Michelle just finished her 2nd year at Ambrose University in the Masters of Divinity - pastoral ministry program with 2 years to go, and is currently the president of the Seminary Student Leadership Team. She is passionate about bringing communities together, and is currently learning how to do this with a very diverse group of students. She enjoys making new friends and learning about their stories, experiences, and cultures. She continues to work towards being trained as a pastor and is excited for the opportunities God has for her.

Elders Board Update
Dominic Fung, Ken Lo, Hanson So, and Albert Tam were elected Elders for a 2 year term (2024-2026) at this year's AGM on Sunday April 28th. They will join existing Elders: Justin Chan, Joyce Chen, Janson Ho, and Lachmi Ma with our Senior Pastor, Abe Chan, to form the Elders Board. Nicholas Lai and Samantha Tsui will be stepping down this year. We thank them for their many years of service.

This summer at Vacation Bible School, children will dive into a fun-filled week of worship, Bible adventures, crafts, games and most importantly swimming in God’s Word! Sunday Parking Reminder
On Sundays, the upper parking lot is reserved for first time visitors, parents with babies/toddlers (up to age 3), people who have limited mobility, handicap parking, and drop off/pick up.
