Dear Fraser Lands Church,

May the peace of the Lord be with you! I would like to take this time to update you on what will be happening with our church in the next couple of months. As a church staff, we’ve been connecting with the ministry leaders of all the various congregations. While doing so, we’ve been discussing what the possible re-opening plans may look like, especially in regards to the comfort level of each of the congregations coming together to worship at our church. Now, it is true that we are still in the midst of our construction project, and it will take another 3-4 months before we can actually finish the whole construction. And because of the nature of the new addition, it affects the access and the exiting pathways of our existing building, including the sanctuary and chapel areas.

As such, the Cantonese and Mandarin worship services will continue to be online until the end of construction, sometime in late October or early November. Meanwhile, we are in the process of planning for an in-person 11AM worship service to be conducted in English. We are hoping this English service could begin as early as September 12th, but it will all be dependent on the progress of our construction and the approval given by the building inspector in order for us to hold a worship service in the sanctuary with the appropriate safety exits in place. I will provide further update on this as we get closer to that date.

At this time, we encourage all the small groups and fellowship groups of all our congregations to have outdoor gatherings at someone’s home or in the park to worship, pray, give thanks, or just have fun together and enjoy each others’ company especially with the weather being so nice outside! In addition, I know the English congregation is planning to have a summer BBQ sometime in August, so please stay tuned for more information.

In the meantime, I do want to encourage all of us to get fully vaccinated so that we are able to protect ourselves and others by doing our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19. And so, thank you everyone for your continual understanding, patience and support as we look forward to the day when we can all come together as a church to worship our Lord in-person with our dear brothers & sisters in Christ at FLC. At this time, let us continue to gather together online and to worship our Lord in the Spirit and in truth! Take care everyone and God bless!

In His love,
Pastor Abe
