Lytton Ministry Update – 2026 Ministry Trips

Easter is coming in a few weeks when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It signifies new life and new birth. It reminds us of the rebuilding and rebirth of the Lytton community after the devastating fire in 2021 that destroyed almost the entire village.  

Mayday Trip

Our Mayday Ministry Trip to Lytton will be on Saturday May 16, 2026, during their traditional Mayday Events. Organizers of the Mayday Events are very appreciative of what our church has done for them in the past years. This year, our activities will be located indoors at the Battlefield Hall to avoid the windy conditions and eliminate the need for canopies. After reviewing our ministry commitments, the Help for Lytton core group decided to scale down our operation for this trip to take out the game activities. However, we still plan on having face painting, balloon art, cotton candy, popcorn, crafts, and photo booth for the event and need over 20 members for the trip.

It should be noted that a training/prayer session is required for each member of the Mayday Ministry Trip Team. It is scheduled for May 3rd (Sunday) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

River Festival Trip

Our second ministry trip will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026. Our goal for the ministry trip is to serve the Lytton community by being a part of the festival that serves an important function in drawing the community together to welcome everyone back after the 2021 wildfire. We are trying to find ways to enhance our involvement in the festival.  One idea we have is to explore the history of Chinese settlement in the Lytton area (there is a Chinese History Museum in Lytton that was rebuilt and opened in 2025) and make it an attraction to the people visiting. Please consider joining and helping this trip. We will need over 40 members for the River Festival trip. More information will be available in the next few months.
