Dear Fraser Lands Family,

Fraser Lands Church's Youth Ministry has always fostered spiritual development, helping teens build relationships with Christ through programs like Youth Worship Service, Friday Knights and ACTS Youth Groups, and Teens Camp. These initiatives nurture passion for Christ, confidence in the Gospel, and equip teens for a life dedicated to Jesus.

Earlier in August, we announced an ‘amalgamation trial’ to integrate our teens into the English Worship Service from September to December to foster deeper intergenerational worship. This proposal is supported by a 20-year long research study from Fuller Youth Institute, indicating that youth involvement in Intergenerational Worship Services strongly correlates with deeper faith maturity, belonging and purpose within the broader church family and concludes that many young people involved in ‘Youth Only’ programs tend to drift from faith after high school. Our goal is to create a warm, authentic, and empathetic environment where all generations can worship, learn, and serve alongside one another, fostering deeper connections and empowering our youth to take on meaningful, load-bearing roles and be empowered to live out their faith for Christ.

We believe teenagers are not just the church of tomorrow, but a vital and powerful part of the church today.

Toward the end of August, we will be releasing 2 surveys (for Teens and Parents) to gather their thoughts on their experiences with our currently existing programs. In November, a second survey will be released to evaluate the trial integrated worship service.

In September, Pastor Nathan will host our Annual Parents Night where parents can come and learn more about ongoing programs in our Youth Ministry. For those with questions specifically about the amalgamation trial, the Pastors will be hosting a Q&A in the near future via Zoom, and the recording will be made available to anyone who cannot attend.

Fraser Lands Church and our Youth Ministry Team are committed to continuously adapting and evolving our programs, and approaches to stay current with the needs of young people. We aim to ensure that we offer relevant, engaging, and impactful experiences that equip them with the tools they need to establish firm foundations of faith. This journey is a collective effort, and your insights, feedback, and active involvement are crucial. We believe that by working hand-in-hand, we can create a supportive and vibrant community where our teens feel loved, understood, and valued in our Church Family.

Thank you once again for your trust and partnership! We look forward to continuing this vital work alongside you.  If you have any questions, please refer to the Parent’s Letter Pastor Nathan has already sent out by email, or feel free to get in touch with Pastor Nathan, Pastor Larry or Pastor Joe.

Sincerely,

FLC English Ministry Pastors
