"A Discipleship Journey: Jesus"

A disciple of Jesus is someone who follows Jesus and who helps others to follow Him. They are transformed by the experience of being with Jesus while journeying along with others that affects the whole of their lives. It is about being fundamentally changed by the Holy Spirit that we live a life fully surrendered to God -- fully surrendered to what He wants to do in our lives!

As a church, we would like to go on 'a discipleship journey' together where we are building into each other's lives intentionally, relationally, and spiritually in order to become disciples who then, in turn, make disciples. We are truly looking forward to doing this together as a whole church -- not just a small group or fellowship group, or even just one congregation in our church, but all of us being transformed by our Lord Jesus into what He has called us and FLC to be!

The English worship ministry is hosting a worship night and we'd love for you to join us! It'll be a night centred around the theme of Jesus as our King as we worship together, reflect on who He is, and begin the fall ministries with our eyes fixed on Him. All are welcome!

Join us as we gather for worship, reflection, personal prayer time, and corporate prayer for important needs and issues. Lunch will be available beforehand at 12:30pm in the Banquet Room for those who have signed up for lunch. You are also welcome to join us in the Banquet Room if you prefer to bring your own lunch or join us at 1:30pm in the MPR for the Prayer Summit.

For the 4th consecutive year, we warmly invite the brothers and sisters of Fraser Lands Church to participate in our annual clothing drive, organized by the Love Our Neighbors Cantonese Small Group in support of NightShift Street Ministries — a Christian non-profit that has been serving people experiencing poverty, addiction, and homelessness in Surrey since 2004.

Since 2023, Fraser Lands Church has supported NightShift through our annual clothing drive. Since August 2025, we have also been providing 100 meals every month, prepared in our church kitchen by different fellowships and small groups and delivered to NightShift for its evening meal ministry in Surrey.

Through our clothing donations and monthly meals, we help NightShift continue providing clean, warm clothing and nourishing food, enabling our neighbours in need to endure another cold and hungry night with dignity, hope, and care.

On Saturday September 5, 2026, 61 volunteers in 17 vehicles headed up to Lytton to help out in their 22nd annual River Festival. This is the largest team we assembled for this ministry since the 2021 wildfire that destroyed over 95% of the village.

Answered Prayers
This particular trip was not without challenges. Due to the ongoing forest fire in Fraser Canyon, Highway 1 was closed between Yale and Boston Bar. On August 24, we told the leader of the festival that if the road closure continues, we will not be able to make the trip to Lytton. The response we got from her was: “I’m counting on your collective prayers to help open the highway and allow us to continue as planned on the 5th and 6th (September)”. We spread the word through our prayer team and sent out an urgent prayer request asking God to “do something about the weather” that would allow the reopening of the highway. Lo and behold! The highway was reopened on August 26!

Children's Carnival and the Lytton Chinese History Museum
In addition to the usual children's carnival that included games, photo booth, hotdogs, popcorn, face painting and cotton candy, we partnered with Lytton Chinese History Museum and Lytton First Nations to host a special heritage showcase tracing the lives of early Chinese settlers. Family Ministries is organizing a new gathering and opportunity for parents of young children (primarily for, but not limited to 0–6yrs) to meet and get to know one another. Bring-your-own-lunch and eat together in a relaxed, informal setting. Both new and long-time families of our church are welcome to join!

The purpose of this new gathering is:
- an opportunity for parents to share experiences, ideas, and practical support.
- a way to help identify families who may be interested in forming informal care groups.

Our first gathering will be on Sunday, Oct 4 from 12:30-2:30pm in the Banquet Room. Following gatherings will be on the first Sunday of the month (November 1 and December 6).
