"Learning to Deal with Anxiety"
Psalm 131

In this psalm David tells us that he is at peace and calm; we live in a world filled with anxiety and worry. Part of the praying life is worrying in the presence of God. Bringing our worries to God is the secret to having a soul that is at peace. David declares that there are things too wonderful for him to understand. In God's presence he trusts for the things he does not understand.

Set Free Weekend focuses on learning how to deal with the hurts, hang-ups and struggles that we all face on a daily basis and come to a place of freedom inside our hearts from the past, through listening prayer, confession and learning about the power of the cross.

Tombert & Joyce both serve at Youth Unlimited (YFC Greater Vancouver). Youth Unlimited works with youth in their setting and believe in the potential of every youth and desire for them to grow relationally, physically, intellectually, mentally, and spiritually.

Praise:
- Praise God for the partnership with Camp Stillwood.
- Praise God for the Finance office in organizing and learning a new system.

Prayer:
- The Richmond van has been going through many repairs. More funds are needed to keep the van in shape.
- Wisdom and patience for Tombert as more youth and former youth are reaching out for guidance.

The Safety and Risk Management Training Seminar is mandatory for all volunteers serving with minors in Children's and Teens Ministry. All new and prospective volunteers are required to take the Full Training course in person on Sunday September 8, 2024 at 1pm-3pm. The registration deadline is Friday September 6, 2024.

Everyone has questions about life. What is my purpose? What happens when I die? Why is there suffering? Alpha is a chance to ask these big questions and explore the Christian faith in a safe, low-key, relaxed environment. Each interactive session includes dinner, a short film, and a discussion. Alpha starts September 11th and runs for 12 Wednesday evenings. Click below for more info or to register.

Join us as we celebrate and prepare for the upcoming year through worship, activities, fellowship, prayer, and guidance from Pastor Ben, where the focal point of the night will be to explore and seek out what God has in plan for our Church and ourselves. Hope to see you there!

Feeling tired or discouraged as a ministry leader? Not sure if you have what it takes to continue? The apostle Paul also faced tremendous pressure in his ministry. In 2 Corinthians he shares many unique perspectives on how to be an exemplary and effective minister. Let's come together for a few months to study God's Word and to help each other to reflect and recharge.

MOMENTUM is hosting a once-a-month sports get-together for men in the Multi-Purpose Room. All men are welcome to attend and are encouraged to invite a friend! Activities include pickleball, badminton, volleyball and basketball. No experience necessary. Space is limited. If you are interested in participating, please sign up here. 

Whether you have a new teenager and want to see how youth ministries will serve your child, curious about what our focus will be this year, or even looking for some encouragement/prayer as parents in raising a teenager in 2024, we'd love to spend an evening connecting with each other.

Awana restarts in-person on Saturday September 21st. A weekly club for kids ages Preschool to Grade 6. Clubbers focus on memorizing God's Word, participate in exciting games, sing songs, share with one another, do occasional crafts, and build long lasting friendships. Click here for more details.

Children's Ministry - Awana is looking for a few more adult leaders:

- 1 full time adult leader in T&T Jr
- 1 full time adult leader in T&T Sr
